Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a stoppage-time leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable triumph in the showdown between the French league winners and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring early on.

However, Marseille fired twice in the closing moments to seize a surprise advantage. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking turn of fortune, Goncalo Ramos snatched a vital leveler in the final moments to force the contest into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving crucial attempts from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to seal a 4-1 penalty win.

Now 14-time champions PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the past thirteen seasons.
