Donald Trump's System of Consequences and Incentives

Trump's intense appetite for revenge has swiftly morphed into a methodical system. During the year since his election, the leader's rage and whims have assumed the form of official policies in a manner reminiscent to historical repressive regimes. Justice department figures who fail to comply are promptly dismissed and succeeded by devotees. Opposing officials who question him face indictment, court proceedings and sanctions. Opponents have been categorized under presidential orders as “unpatriotic”, “anti-Christian” and “anti-capitalist”, and menaced with legal action as “security threats”.

Government Institutions Restructured

Every case involving prosecution of Trump's enemies and immunity for supporters exhibits its own distinct characteristics. However, despite their individual form, they represent manifestations of what has developed as a systematic technique. These incidents are far from coincidental. Trump's purge of DoJ attorneys and FBI officials, coupled with his placement of loyalists in high-level positions, started quickly, quickly assumed a consistency, and has now been formed into a regime. DoJ and the FBI have been remade into ideological organizations under the president's clear direction to execute his wishes. Unfairness has been rendered normal. This is the system of punishment.

Management is preoccupied with targeting the leader's supposed adversaries than they are with defending our national security.

Within the Apparatus

The origin of this system has been revealed in the legal complaint of several ex- top FBI executives lodged in September in the federal court in Washington against agency head an administration figure and attorney general a key figure for illegal termination in “a campaign of retribution against the officials for what Defendants deemed to be a inability to show proper devotion”. The document states that one official, the ex- acting FBI director, describes a discussion in which he “publicly admitted the impropriety of his conduct”.

He had tried to protect agency personnel from being fired, the complaint states. Patel informed him that “they” – perceived by Driscoll to be the presidential administration and federal prosecutors – had instructed him to fire everyone who they considered as having worked on a criminal investigation against him. The complaint adds: “The director clarified that he had to dismiss the people his bosses told him to fire, because his ability to keep his own position was contingent on the removal of the officials who handled cases involving the President. The director commented that there was nothing he or Driscoll could do to halt these or any other terminations, because ‘the bureau sought to put the chief in detention and he remembers.’” When the official informed the director he was breaking the FBI's own regulations, the director allegedly said “he knew that and he knew the character of the swift terminations were probably illegal”.

Widespread Consequences

Following Patel's alleged acknowledgment to the official, the DoJ and the FBI have been dismantled and reorganized for his revenge apparatus. Multiple of the FBI's top officials were terminated or pushed out in the first days of the government. Approximately 4,500 legal professionals at DoJ have accepted a “voluntary departure plan”. A minimum of several government attorneys, among them those in the southern district of New York, resigned in protest over what they viewed as political interference in dropping the corruption case against the New York City mayor, a political figure, in as a trade for his assistance with the administration's ICE roundups of foreign nationals. The anti-corruption unit of the justice department, which handles ethical violations, has been reduced to a handful of lawyers. The equality section has been decimated: the majority of its employees has resigned. A third of top officials at the justice department have left. The section implementing ecological regulations has seen departures of a majority its leadership.

Incentives and Penalties

Concerning the Adams case, the temporary lawyer for the NY office, she, resigned in dissent against what she described as the “exchange”. Tom Homan, the president's “border czar,” appeared as the implementer with the mayor on Fox News to declare: “Should he fail to deliver, I'll reappear in New York City.”. Additionally, another figure, formerly the justice department figure and a former Trump attorney, who negotiated the arrangement, was given an court role, a potential pathway to the judicial branch.

His immunity for offenses perpetrated while in power, provided by the unprecedented ruling of the GOP-led on the highest court, thus preventing his criminal case over the January 6 insurrection and maintaining his electoral prospects for the presidential race, is the cornerstone on which he depends to defend his loyalists. Under these circumstances, he has been liberated to permit wrongdoing. The effect of the court judgment infuses his government and the Republican Party down to its bones. Trump v United States has spread. In the words of a past leader's administration lawyer the figure commented about the Watergate
