19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

Success also means he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an better serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
